6 World Famous Companies That Began in Garages

For a long time now, garages have become amazing places. Garages are used for not only parking cars, but starting companies too! It's important to study famous businesses to make one. So, these are "6 World Famous Companies That Began in Garages".

1. The Online Megastore at 10704 NE 28th, Bellevue, Washington

In 1994, Jeff Bezos founded a small bookstore in his garage, in Bellevue, Washington. It took him till 1995 to sell him his first book, and until 1997 to make his first public stock offering.
Today, Amazon is the world’s largest online megastore.

2. The Most Valuable Technology Company in the World at 2066 Crist Dr, Los Altos, California

In 1976, Steve Wozniac designed a small computer. He and his friend, coincidentally with the same name, sold 50 to a local retailer. They both built them in a garage in Cupertino, California.
Today, Apple is the most valuable technology company in the world.

3. The Highest-Grossing Media Company in the World at 4651 Kingswell Ave, Los Angeles, California

In Los Angeles, 1923, a man named Robert owned a house where his two nephews set up a small studio, in the one-car garage.
Today, Walt and Roy’s Disney is the highest-grossing media company in the world.

4. The Most Trafficked Site in the World at 232 Santa Margarita Ave, Menlo Park, California

In 1998, two Standford graduates decided to make a search-engine website in the garage of a lady named Susan Wojcicki. The entire venture, however, began interfering with their college work, so they decided to sell it to Excite for $1 million, hoping for some money. Their offer was rejected.
Today, Larry Page and Sergey Brin’s Google is the most trafficked site in the world.

5. The Most Well-Known Motorcycle Brand in the World at Milwaukee, Wisconsin

In 1901, a 21- year old man was fascinated by bicycles. He thought that it would be nice to have an engine powering it, however. In two years, he and his friend made this “motor-bicycle” in a shed (There were no cars back then, so it’s basically a garage.).
William Harley and Arthur Davidson’s Harley-Davidson is the most well-known motorcycle brand in the world.

6. One of the Largest Information Technology Corporations in the World at 367 Addison Ave, Palo Alto, California

In 1939, two men designed an audio-oscillator in a garage, and sold eight to Walt Disney.
Today, Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard’s HP (or Hewlett-Packard) is one of the largest information technology companies in the world. It is also regarded as the birthplace of Silicon Valley.

What's My Point?

“Every journey begins with a single step”. This phrase is a cliché for a reason. Everything big starts with something small. We look at Google, or Apple, and think that we could never do something that great. But, neither did Steve Jobs. Or Walt Disney. They all began dreaming. The only difference is, these were determined to turned these dreams into realities. "If you want to make your dreams come true, the first thing you have to do is wake up."

(You may now applaud)
